I managed the planning and delivery of Ivan Morison’s large-scale travelling tent installation, this included planning permission, site coordination and building with Ivan’s team, and event management. I worked closely with Westmorland and Furness Council, the RNLI, Dock Museum, local businesses, pub owners, residents and landowners to deliver the project.
As Programme Lead for Art Gene, I developed, coordinated and delivered with the Art Gene team a four-day public programme including artist commissions by Maddi Nicholson and John Hall, local history talks, an exhibition, and screenings of Ivan Morison’s commissioned 16mm film. Bringing together schools, artists, local residents and the RNLI, the programme explored the legacy of the RNLI’s life-saving work alongside Barrow’s maritime heritage and relationship to the sea.
As part of this, I coordinated a three-part schools programme with Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, working with artists John Hall and Maddi Nicholson to deliver workshops exploring Barrow’s maritime heritage. The programme culminated in an exhibition and visits to Ivan Morison’s installation as part of the wider public programme.
